今日，来华访问的飞利浦电子集团总裁兼首席执行官柯慈雷先生亲临同济大学，参加了2003-2004飞利浦中国大学生足球联赛开幕式，并发表了讲话，以下是讲话全文的中英文版本。
尊敬的章部长、杨秘书长、万校长、各位媒体和在场的年轻朋友们：
非常高兴受到邀请来参加2003-2004飞利浦中国大学生足球联赛的开幕式。
过去三年来，在教育部、中国足协，媒体朋友的大力支持下，飞利浦大联赛已经成为中国大学体育项目中最为成功、影响力最大的体育赛事之一。400余所大学和数百万大学生的积极参与成就了今天的大联赛。听到你们称大联赛为“我们的联赛”，我感到非常高兴。借此机会，我想代表飞利浦公司感谢所有为此赛事做出贡献的朋友们。
足球是世界上最受欢迎的体育项目，也是飞利浦在全球范围内和顾客沟通的理想平台。通过创立大联赛，我们延续着对中国足球的支持，同时也更有针对性地建立了和年轻朋友的沟通渠道。为什么强调和年轻人的沟通？因为今天的年轻人就是明天的领导者和管理者。大联赛让我们可以和中国最有才华的年轻一代走到一起，告诉他们飞利浦作为世界上最优秀的公司之一能为他们带来什么。我们对人才一向非常重视，尤其是在中国，因为我们对中国有着长期的承诺，打算在这里长期发展。这就是为什么最近我们制定了全新的招聘计划，以吸引优秀的高校毕业生。我希望在未来的日子里，我可以欢迎在座的各位加入飞利浦，成为我的同事。当然，我也欢迎你们成为我们的合作伙伴或飞利浦的客户。
最后，我想再次感谢各位为飞利浦大联赛做出的贡献。同时我要特别感谢我们的东道主同济大学和万校长，为今天的开幕式付出的努力。

Distinguished Minister Zhang, Secretary General Yang, President Wan,
media guests and students,
I feel very honored that I have been invited
to kick off the Philips China University Football League
2003-2004.
Thanks to the joint efforts of the Ministry of Education, the
China Football Association, and the consistent support of the media, the Philips
China University Football League has become one of the most recognized and
successful sports events among students in China. The millions of students and
the more than 400 universities involved have also made the PCUFL what it is
today. I`m proud to hear that students call it `our own league`. I would like to
take this opportunity to express Philips` sincere appreciation for all those
involved in turning this sports event into a success.
Football is the
world`s best-loved game. That is why it has always been an excellent platform
for Philips to communicate with people everywhere. With the creation of the
PCUFL, we extended our support to Chinese football with the purpose of reaching
out to students across the country. Why? Because the students of today are the
leaders and managers of tomorrow. The league allows us to become involved with
young, talented people in China and to show them what Philips can offer as a
future employer. We attach great value to talent, especially here, as we want to
grow together here in this great country. This is why we recently developed a
recruitment program specifically targeted at Chinese students and I hope that I
may welcome students here today as employees of our company at some future point
in time. And I look forward to meeting others as future business partners or
future customers.
To conclude, I would like to thank you all once again
for your efforts connected to the PCUFL. My special thanks go to our host,
Tongji University, and especially to President Wan, who has been responsible for
this opening ceremony.
I`m sure you will join me in wishing everyone
participating in the 2003-2004 PCUFL the very best of luck.
