                           Post-doc Fellowship Program Call for Applications

We are pleased to announce the call for applications for the China Scholarship Council-Georgetown University Fellowship Program for the 2008-2009 academic year. In May 2006, Georgetown University and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) established the Fellowship Program to support one-year post-doctoral fellowships for studies at Georgetown (see Press Release and Announcement).  Fields of study include natural sciences, physical, life and health sciences, applied social sciences and others. Each Fellowship offers a stipend of no less than $30,000 USD. In addition to that, the fellow will have a great opportunity to work with leading faculty in the field. The Fellowship Program offers promising young scholars the opportunity to be part of the Georgetown University community and to take advantage of the many resources available in the Washington, DC area. As Fellows complete their programs and return to China, they will serve as vital links between Georgetown and their respective Chinese academic communities.

We encourage you to share this announcement with colleagues who would be able to recommend, or would themselves be, strong candidates for the Fellowship. Once again, the deadline for applications is January 2, 2008.

中国国家留学基金管理委员会（留学基金委）与美国乔治敦大学（乔治敦）联合博士后奖学金项目现在开始接受2008-2009学年的申请。2006年5月乔治敦和留学基金委联合建立了博士后奖学金项目，以支持中国学者赴乔治敦从事为期一年的博士后研究工作（详情见新闻稿和申请通知）。研究领域包括自然科学，医学与生命科学，公共政策，应用社会科学等。每位奖学金获得者除将获得不少于3万美元的生活资助, 还将有机会与学科领域一流的教授共同从事研究。关于此奖学金项目及申请的具体细节请访问以下网址

此博士后奖学金项目的设立旨在为有才华的中国年轻学者提供融入乔治敦的学术环境并充分利用华盛顿特区周边学术资源的良机。学者在结束项目回国之后，将成为乔治敦与其所在中国学术机构的重要纽带。
